There is way too much luck involved with card trade in bonus values. If someone gets the 10 bonus army on first 3 cards of the game, and another person has to wait till 5th card to even get a 4/6/8 or 10 army trade in- that is a huge advantage and skill in winning game is taken out of it.
What about a “3rd option “ for card bonuses- in addition to fixed or progressive?
I would do a “straight value” trade option as follows:
3 cards trade in for 4 armies
4 cards trade in for 7 armies
5 cards trade in for 12 armies( bonus for waiting for 5th card)
This would take a lot of sheer luck out of game, especially earlier rounds when a 3 card 10/12 army bonus puts that person at huge non skill advantage.
Would be a great addition to options for game set up.
