I have been playing Risk since 1991 with my school friends and family. We still play when we see each other.
One of the rules we created in order to make it more strategic, was to cap the number of soldiers in each territories, for example maximum 15. We decided the cap at the beginning of the game and could be part of the options at the start.
- Based on our experience , this makes the game more strategic and faster.
- Players are required to plan more in advance before your draft or changing cards.
- players cant include more troops than the cap per territory. If the player have more troops than the cap to place at the beginning the player will lose the additional troops.
