The community forum activity has really dropped off...

Just seems like there's only like one new post a week... thoughts?

Yeah you’re good especially since you can only get better with more playing and right now we’ve never been able to get more than two forum people in a a game at the same time. It seems the forums are still too small to get a six high ranks together at one time so we have to play global domination and let in others. I have many risk accounts but the one that I am using for progressive right now is Reiner Agincourt 8. I’ll add you.
It needs to be a risk profile for me to add you so how about you send it thanks.
We know SMG keeps basic data about games like who was in them and what place they finished in. They just need a script to analyze the data either for top accounts only or randomly for everyone. It would check to see if they often/always play with one or more accounts on the same IP address, always win, or often/always play the same opponent(s) then cheaters would be caught and action taken against them automatically. That should cause most every cheater to give up. Yes SMG could check the top players manually and I’ve suggested that as a start since it is easy but they won’t spend time on that.
For the most part, I try to be as understanding as possible - if one were to review my previous post, they would find that I will address problems without piling guilt or responsibility on SMG - in my mind they are people just like us doing a job to feed their families.... BUT with the most recent insight to the incompetence of the employees at SMG, I urge all who read this to contact Hasbro directly and DEMAND that they adjust their tech support - even if that means the dismissal of SMG. I'm sorry to the SMG employees that may become upset by this, but the real issues are not being addressed, the information given is minimal and delayed, and most importantly the voice of the consumer is not being heard. I for one am tired of mediocrity from one of the largest board game companies in the world. If SMG is not up to the challenge then the mother company should take responsibility and find a tech support company that is; or at the bare minimum, reprimand SMG and outline what is expected of them.

@Aitch Unless SMG has lost a few key employees, I don't think mediocrity is the reason. I've been playing since Hasbro released the game, long before SMG was in charge of tech support. If you had an issue then you had to email Hasbro directly - which was not an easy task. Personally, I believe that SMG has brought this game a long way, even with the few coding errors that's accompanied their progress. The biggest problem people have now is cheaters, but that's a harder problem to solve than most people might think - since no software is being tampered with by people using alternate accounts. Short of banning IP adresses, I can't really think of a solid solution....

Gotta disagree with you bro - given the source code, I could find a pair of techies who would sort the game out within a month!

This stuff is not hard, nor is it particularly time consuming - Risk is only a simple mobile app... not the next version of Grand Theft Auto lol!

By the way, I think some good employees may well have left the company -  if you check the older posts, you'll see much more informative posts from them... all we are stuck with now is Phil, who rarely says (or even knows) anything lol!

True - there is more life in a cemetery than this place lol

There are many reasons for this, like:

- mediocre forum software

- minimal (if any!) response/interaction from SMG

- lack of regular updates to fix (the many!) problems in the game

- etc etc...

"BUT with the most recent insight to the incompetence of the employees at SMG"

What has happened recently dude? (other than the lack of updates and fixes and improvements lol)

Unfortunately, only a few dozen players come to this forum - so it's unlikely that Hasbro will take notice of anything so few people demand!

However, there's no harm in trying is there! = https://hasbro-new.custhelp.com/app/age_verify/redirect/ask

Ultimately the app will sink or swim, depending on the revenue it generates - the situation is either one of the following:

1) The game is making plenty of money - due to it being an "official" Hasbro port... so most people are overjoyed to see it available on their mobile and pay up immediately! They then start playing regularly - and quickly realise how flawed the app is... but don't bother getting a refund cos it's only a few bucks lol

2) The game is not making much money - due to most people playing a couple of dozen times for free... and deciding it ain't worth paying for because it has so many unresolved issues

Sadly, in both cases... SMG won't be bothered to invest the time and effort in to improving the game and bringing it up to what it should be!

If it's making money then who cares about the problems - if it's losing money then they'll put their energy in to another app which can/does make a profit...

Still, I guess we can hope for the best - maybe SMG will release an awesome update soon... although
