Loosing point even though I win

I keep loosing rank point even though I win. I think I'd even loose less points if I had lost that game. Note: At least one player in those games had the same rank as I did. I've lost Master rank two times to this...

How exactly does one go about loosing points?  Did you not tie them tight enough?
