Risk needs to add some new game modes in. Here are some ideas that I remember playing.
President/MVP - In this game players are given territories randomly or manually just like in classic. Here's where things get interesting players are then given a little star icon which resembles their president to place on any owned territory. The president does not count as a troop unit and cannot aid in defending or attacking. The president is free to move around during the fortify stage. Moving the president and fortification of troop rules are the same as the classic version, but remember you only get one fortification to an adjacent territory. Reinforcement rules are the same as classic with the option of fixed or progressive card trade-ins. If a player takes over another player's territory with that player's president on it, then the conquering player receives the defeated player's cards and remaining territories also eliminating that player. Capture all the presidents and win.
Capitals - In this game players are given one territory randomly or manually. That territory becomes the player's capital, the remaining territories are neutral with random-light-defensive-grey units on them and are up for grabs by force. The capitals start with 10 troops, and reinforcement rules are the same as classic with the option of fixed or progressive card trade-ins. To win the game capture all of the other players capitals. When completely eliminating a player, the conquering player receives the defeated players unused cards.
