Isn't there some merit in the idea in a second place standing contributing to your rank aggregate to a proportional degree e.g. if you were, theoretically (I don't know how ranking is figured) to get 3 points for a victory and 0 (or -1) for a loss, shouldn't the player that finishes 2nd get 1 point? I believe this incentive could positively affect gameplay and alliances during matches. What do you think?

I was under the impression that is how it works already (I.e.- the rank is affected by how well you place and the difference between your rank and the ranks of the opponents). Either way, more clarity about how rankings work would be nice.
