Ranks will be “soft reset” and/or “decayed” each season, depending on if you have played in the previous season.
You will see your points have dropped to the bottom of a Rank Class (listed below). This will be to the bottom of your current Rank Class if you have completed a qualifying game in that season or it will be to a lower Rank Class - one for each season you have not completed a qualifying game.
If you have completed a qualifying game in the previous season (e.g. Ranked FFA), you will be soft reset to the bottom of your current Rank Class:
- Grandmaster - 26k
- Master - 16k
- Expert - 11k
- Intermediate - 6k
- Beginner - 1k
- Novice - 0
For each season that you have not completed a qualifying game, your rank will be decayed to the bottom of the previous Rank Class. This will stack - meaning if you do not play any ranked games for three seasons in a row, you will decay by three Rank Classes.
This will apply individually to both the 1v1 system and FFA ranking system. This means if you play a 1v1 ranked game but no FFA, then your 1v1 rank will be reset to the bottom of your current rank and FFA rank class will go back to the previous Rank Class.
