I've noticed with the update that the player last in the order starts the game. That's not too big of a deal but that player also doesn't get his starting armies for his turn. It only happens at the start of the game.

The difference is the last player now has the option of making an extra fortify move or moving to the front of the card cycle. I'm curious how others handle going first without the draft armies. I always fortify if possible but don't attack because I don't want to lose men and get the first set.

I believe that SMG added this as an intended feature, so that the first player to go wouldn't have a very large advantage over the other players
